The Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend is on the way!
Our libraries will still be open over the bank holiday weekend, although there will be a reduction in some services. Please read on for information about our opening hours and which services will be available.
Opening hours
Colchester
Thursday 2 June – Library staff will be in the building 10:00-18:00 and will be able to help with any enquiries in person, on the phone or via e-mail during this time. Our Live Chat service will be available between 10:00-12:00 & 14:00-18:00. The Paternoster will not be in operation.
Friday 3 June – While the building will still be open 24/7, there will be no library staff in the building and therefore no e-mail, phone or chat service. The Paternoster will not be in operation.
There will be 24/7 access to all floors of the Albert Sloman Library throughout the bank holiday weekend.
Southend
Thursday 2 June – The Info Point and public library services will be closed. There will be self-service access to The Learning Hub and library spaces as usual.
Friday 3 June – The Info Point and public library services will be closed. There will be self-service access to The Learning Hub and library spaces as usual.
The Learning Hub will still be accessible 24/7 via the out of hours access door and students will be able to browse on the first floor and self issue/return books.
Loughton
Thursday 2 June – The library will be open as usual, however, self-service only between 8:30-23:00 with the helpdesk being closed.
Friday 3 June – The library will be open as usual, however, self-service only between 8:30-23:00 with the helpdesk being closed.
For all libraries
The following services will be reduced:
- ‘Book a Librarian’ appointments – no appointments on Thursday 2 June & Friday 3 June.
- Live chat will be available on Thursday 2 June between 10:00-12:00 & 14:00-18:00. There will be no Live Chat service on Friday 3 June.
- Our phone line will be monitored 10:00-18:00 on Thursday 2 June. There will be no phone service on Friday 3 June.
SUPPORT STILL AVAILABLE
