A state funeral for Her Late Majesty will be held on Monday 19 September and a statutory bank holiday has been announced. As such our University will join others across the nation in closing certain aspects of our services across the three campuses on Monday 19 September in order for staff and students to mourn.

Please read on for information about our Library opening hours and which services will be available.
Opening hours
Colchester
Monday 19 September – The main library will be closed, including the ground floor self-service area and floors 1 – 5. These areas will re-open at 8am on Tuesday 20 September.
There will be 24/7 access to the Library Reading Room and Postgraduate Room as usual.
The external book return, located on the Silberrad side, will still be available.
Southend
Monday 19 September – The Info Point and public library services will be closed. There will be self-service access to The Learning Hub and library spaces as usual.
The Learning Hub will still be accessible 24/7 via the out of hours access door.
Loughton
Monday 19 September – The library will be closed for the bank holiday and will re-open as usual on Tuesday 20 September.
For all libraries
The following services will be reduced:
- ‘Book a Librarian’ appointments – no appointments on Monday 19 September.
- Live chat will be unavailable on Monday 19 September, and will resume at 10am on Tuesday 20 September.
- Phone lines and e-mails won’t be monitored on Monday 19 September, though we will be responding to all voicemails and e-mails on our return.
SUPPORT STILL AVAILABLE
